Nilla Night A Success The June 12 Nilla Night had record attendance of 15!! It was at Perkins and we were celebrating a special occasion - Larry and Bev's wedding. Thanks to everyone letting me know ahead of time they were coming, so we were able to get 3 tables to accomodate all of us. Meeting weekly for Nilla Night seems to be a great way to relax, converse and have a good time. It also seems to be a great place to bring new people to screen before a meeting.

Pride! Flag What do you get when you combine Leather Pride, Gay Pride, and BDSM Pride ALL in one place? A new Pride flag! Actually, it is not new, it just changes the red heart from the Leather Pride to a rainbow heart to intertwine Gay pride with it. Then, add the BDSM Pride to the center of the heart, and you get a new and improved Pride Flag.

Schedule of Meetings MPE meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm and the third Saturday of each month at 12:30 pm. Attendance to MPE is by invitation only. Membership requirements are that you are over 21 years of age and have a genuine interest in BDSM. MPE is not a swinger's club, play group or matchmaking service. Send them to: obedient_one@mindspring.com Upcoming Events BR '98 - OCTOBER 16-18, 1998-THE WOODSTOCK OF BDSM The Black Rose of Washington DC is excited to announce BR '98, a pansexual educational and social leather gathering October 16-18, 1998, at the Ramada Conference and Exhibition Center in New Carrollton, Maryland. In response to the overwhelming requests that we "do BR10 again," Black Rose has decided to host an annual weekend event featuring workshops, lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice sessions, parties, forums, and exhibits of interest to the het, gay, lesbian, bi and transgender communities. The goal is to continue the integration of all orientations into one pansexual community where we can share our knowledge, history and experiences, celebrate our commonalties and assist each other in the furtherance of our lifestyle and sexuality. In addition to dozens of new and exciting presentations, workshops and demonstrations, BR '98 will feature 2 play parties in our football-field-size dungeon, a travelling exhibit from the Leather Archives and Museum, the juried Kinky Crafts Show, and the second annual Black Rose Equestrian Extravaganza. Black Rose will present the first Vaughn Keith Memorial Service Awards. A complete list of presentations and presenters will be found on our website as plans are finalized. Register early. The cost for the entire weekend is only $85 if postmarked by July 31, 1998. After that date and until August 31, the cost is $100. The registration fee after September 1 will be $110. Every room at the Ramada Conference and Exhibition Center is being held for BR '98 This means that one can be in fetish clothing throughout the weekend without concern of offending others. Be sure to mention that you are reserving with BR '98 or you will not get a reservation. The spill-over hotels are the Best Western, 800-866-4458 and the Days Inn, 800-DAY-SINN (329-7466). Shuttle buses will run between the three facilities throughout BR '98. Contrary to rumors presently floating around the Internet, BR '98 overflow hotels are NOT sold out. If you are told that the Best Western has no rooms available, ask to speak to the sales manager, she will book your room for you (301-459-1000 or 800-866-4458). If the Days Inn (301-459-6600) tells you that you must use the 800-325-2525 number to make a reservation, do so. There is no need to mention BR or BR '98 at theDays Inn.
